E-News: Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale are Hiplife artistes, not dancehall - Lyno

Musicians Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale have been battling each other over the past years with each of them claiming to be the dancehall king in Ghana. Both artistes are doing very well internationally and are recognized as dancehall artistes from Ghana. But Afrobeat/Highlife artiste Lyno seems to think otherwise.

Lyno mentioned to ObaaGhana that, He thinks both Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy are doing very well but they are not real dancehall artistes. They are actually Hiplife artistes.
He also said that, considering the likes of Alkaline, Popcaan, Jahmiel, Vybz Kartel, Mavado and other well known Dancehall artistes, what Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy sing isn't dancehall but the old Hiplife genre that we know in Ghana. With a little twist added to it.
He mentioned that he respects Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale and commend them for putting Ghana Music on the Map.
